What Exactly Are Low Content/No Content Books?

OMG!!! If you’re not taking advantage of this amazingly simple market, you really don’t know what you’re missing.

Don’t be put off by the term either. It’s an extremely simple, wildly popular and very lucrative market, even if you’re new to it and not quite sure what you’re doing.

OK, sorry for all that. I just had to get that out of the way.

Anyway, for starters, let me explain that since I will be using the terms “low content” and “no content” quite frequently throughout this particular article, I will simply refer to them as “LC/NC”.

So, when you see the term LC/NC, please know that it is simply my way of abbreviating the “Low Content / No Content” term.

I am often asked what low content and no content, or LC/NC, books are, and it’s actually a very good question.

The truth of the matter is that LC/NC books have been around for a very long time.

You see, the terms “Low Content” and “No Content” are actually a little misleading, especially the term “no content”.

That’s because even “no content” books contain content, just not in the way you would normally expect when thinking of a “book”.

LC/NC books are simply books which contain very few words.

Word searches, word jumbles, mazes, cross words puzzles, activity books, coloring books, journals, diaries, calendars, log books and recipe books are all prime examples of LC/NC books.

Even though such books usually contain content such as instructions and descriptions, they’re considered LC/NC because they’re not designed for actual reading.

Many LC/NC creators and authors choose this type of book because they don’t have the concerns that most authors worry about. Character count, word count or page counts, grammar and spelling are just a few of the less stressed about factors.

Spelling however, is still very important. You don’t want to make yourself look like a fool. Though it’s still an important element, it’s a little less concerning when creating LC/NC books because you’re not using nearly as many actual words.

If you look at sites such as Amazon, B&N and even eBay, you’ll come to realize that LC/NC books are very hot, and always have been.

Who doesn’t love a good crossword puzzle or word search puzzle. Or my personal favorites; mazes and word jumbles.

Make no mistake about it, LC/NC are definitely a hot commodity and are highly in demand. And they have been for many, many, many years.

Believe it or not, these types of books are among some of the hottest selling products. And NOT just on Amazon and other marketplaces, but in physical brick and mortar stores as well.

One of the latest crazes in the last few years are adult coloring books and puzzle books. They’ve actually been top sellers on Amazon for quite some time now.

Journals are always hot sellers, year-round, especially those that that are niche specific. Personal improvement, weight loss and pet care are amongst some of the hottest niches.

Regardless of the niche though, the market is huge and extremely diverse. You can create LC/NC books for almost any like, and yes, even dislikes that you can imagine.

Hell, the next time you’re in the area of your local book store, or even at the grocery market, take a look around and you’ll see a wide assortment of such books.

And, if you think back to your younger years, you’ll probably remember waiting in the checkout line and staring at all the puzzle books, activity books or coloring books.

Proving they’re a hot commodity and worth your time and investment.

So, when it comes to creating LC/NC books, the market is wide open, as it has been for quite some time and will continue to be a viable option for many years to come.
